I Spy!

   There's been a lot in the news about surveillance
cameras lately. We're told they're all over the place
and that you can expect to be "on camera" nearly
every where you go.   I have no doubt that's true.
   You'd expect to find the cameras on ATM's,
and mounted in and around jewelry stores and
such. All the Big Box stores have them and you
can be sure they're focused just about everywhere
in the casinos.
    But even with all those cameras I'm not so
sure "Big Brother" is really watching!
    Case in point.....my favorite  camera!
    It's in the middle of nowhere along a rural area
back road. And, unlike many surveillance cameras
it's not really "hidden."
    I was walking the area one day when I noticed
a sign along a "pull off area" that clearly warns
everyone there's a camera trained on the spot.
    A quick glance across the road and you'll
see it mounted to a tall pole. I smiled
and waved, wondering who might be somewhere
"on the other end" watching and, perhaps, waving
back! I mean, who hasen't been on camera and
found the need to either wave or say "Hi Mom!?"
   There's no ATM, bank, or anything else there.
   Presumably the camera was erected to try to
prevent littering or garbage dumping at the site.
    I don't think it's working!
    I say that because of the mattress set that's
been dumped, or placed, at the site.
   It's got to have you wondering if anyone is
watching all those other cameras all over the
place? Is it worth smiling as you pass by?
   Guess it's like Cable or Satellite TV. So
many things to see and nothing worth
watching! Maybe they're all attached to DVR's
for viewing at a later date?
   Well, at least I can rest on the mattress if I get
tired walking!
