The Little Man Who Wasn't There!
The research was all done. The schedule was all
set. The lights were on and the camera was ready.
We were all set to do our weekly program on
Electric City Television. Rusty Fender was filling
in as co-host while I took over Judge Tom Munley's
hosting seat as he continued his well deserved two
week vacation.
Our subject, the annual Christy Mathewson Days
celebration in Factoryville and at Keystone College.
I had gathered a lot of material about the Hall
of Fame Baseball pitcher from our back yard as well
as the events scheduled for the big two day celebration.
But as the clock counted down to show time we
realized there was one thing missing. It was our guest!!!
Somehow, for reasons still unknown, the man
picked to represent the Christy Mathewson Days
Committee wasn't "on the field," or in the "Bull Pen."
Most importantly....we wasn't in our studio.
Since our initial weekly program is done live
we were left with about two minutes to air time and
one very big decision. "Who you gonna call?"
And the answer, as you might expect........was
"Ghost Busters!" Or, in our case, the Ghost Detectives!"
Bob Christopher, the lead investigator for a
regional group researching Para-normal activities in
homes and business places, just happen to be in the
studio to deliver his latest television production.
By the time our Director counted 3, 2, 1 to
air time Bob "appeared" in the guest seat and
answered all the questions Rusty and I could throw
at him! He was Super. Naturally!
Had Bob not been there I'm not sure we would
have had a "ghost of a chance" to pull the show
together! Thankfully he was no apparition!
Of course no one watching had any idea of what
had just happened behind the scenes. And that's the
way it's suppose to be!
Hope your spirits are high and that all your NEWS
is good!

That's a great story!
