BLOG FOR SATURDAY, AUG 3rd.
We hit the Mini golf links again yesterday.
My grandson, with a friend in tow, requested
a rematch on a course just south of Tamaqua which
just happens to be attached to a Dairy Bar complex.
Now how can you possibly navigate 18 holes
without stopping for a tasty ice cream treat?
So we headed to the windows. Well, let's make
that the window. You see all but one of the numerous
windows initially installed to service customers, or
just to let employees look outside, were closed.
An interesting system was in place.
If you wanted food, you know, a burger, fries,
or the like, you went to the outside window.
If you wanted ice cream you walked past five
or so of the "closed" windows and joined the long
line of people waiting to be served.
But guess what? The outside food window also
offered Milk Shakes! It was a way to avoid the line,
have our ice cream and...drink it!
There was no line at the food window! But there
was a clerk.
My daughter ordered a Banana Carmel Milk
Shake. The clerk said they didn't have any Carmel
Milk Shakes. A second selection produced similar
results. Before we go through the thousand or so
Milk Shake possibilities I suggested the clerk
should simply tell us what they had rather than
what they don't have! And the list did include
Banana...just no Carmel!
With the menu whittled down to the 5 or so
actually available we were able to order
successfully.
We'd like to go back sometime...when the
windows are open, the menu is posted, and the
Carmel is in!
Hope you get a double dip and that all your
NEWS is good!
