BLOG FOR WED OCT 16TH
Yesterday, October 15th, was officially the last
day of the 2013 season at the campground where
we keep our 5th wheel camper.
But in some respects it's the beginning of the
season for us.
It's great to see all the people enjoying fishing,
boating, swimming, and various special events
throughout the summer season.
But it's also great to "listen" to the quiet when
the place is basically empty and leaves cover the
ground. The sun is still just high enough to warm
your face as its rays reflect off the lake.
We often come by as this time of year to toss
a movie into the dvd player. The power is still on
so the microwave can still pop the pop corn and
feed the heater if it gets a little too chilly.
It's the time of year when you don't hear the
neighbors but may catch the sound of geese
flying overhead. In case you're wondering they're
headed South!
Some of our fellow campers are probably headed
south too. There's a lot to be said for that decision.
But, for now, we're content to enjoy the scenery and
the solitude. And there's plenty of both!
Hope you're enjoying what may well be the last of
our 70's..and that all your NEWS is good!
