Everyday we see or read about great
discount deals and offers. But how about
deals where the Price is really right?
I truly hope all of you are looking for ways
to celebrate and enjoy this very special day!
You see the first Saturday in October is
International Frugal Fun Day!
The idea is to find and enjoy activities that
are Free or, at the very least, inexpensive! There
are many more than you right imagine!
Those of you who get Comcast TV in
northeastern Pennsylvania may catch a show I
do every week with Judge Tom Munley on which
we promote exhibits, events, and entertainment
offered at no cost to the general public. This
week we talked about a walking tour of the
Taylor cemetery during which local historians
will tell the stories of some of the more
prominent people laid to rest there. That's
tomorrow at 1pm. If you check your local
community calendar you'll find a mess of
events nearly everyday. That's especially true on
the weekends.
Today, for instance, The University of
Scranton Astronomy Club is hosting a public
observation nights at the Lackawanna State Park,
at 8 p.m. Now there's a chance to Star gaze
without watching television!
The events vary, of course, from community
to community. And even though they're free
there's almost always an opportunity to spend
some money. Usually for food.
But many of these events are done by local
church and civil groups where there's never a
shortage of good cooks! This is a day you should
try to observe every day!
So watch those listings for free tours, exhibits,
movies, concerts and the like. Like I said, the
Price is Right and at that price all your NEWS
should be good!
