It's Electrifyin' !

     What's with all this "Electrifyin'" stuff!
     Over the past couple days we've been
getting  phone calls, ads in the mail, even
postings on Facebook about companies
that want to handle our electric power
billing!  Of course I don't think that means
they want to pay our bills!
      I'm not sure I totally understand how it
works. But, basically, in our case PPL makes
the electricity and these various companies
get it to us at "competitive" rates.
     We used to do everything through PPL.
But that's back in the days when it was PP&L.
Those initials represented the name Pennsylvania
Power and Light Company. I don't know why
it dropped the "and." Maybe the light burned out!
You know it is dark by 6pm now!
      Speaking of the light burning out...is it just a
coincidence that there have been all sorts of
power outages since this blitz of providers got
started?
     Bear Creek Community Charter School
nearly dismissed its students the other day when
the power suddenly went out. Just as they hit the
dismissal bell the electricity came back on! At
least at the school.
     Yesterday power went out in several communities
 on the West Side.
     Squirrels usually the blame. Could they be working
for the providers? Who knows?
     Hope we can track down the root of these blackouts
 and that all your NEWS is good!
