Hospital Ups & Downs!
I've spent a lot of time in the Hospital
over the past few weeks.
Oh...I'm just fine thanks. But my
brother-in-law is recovering from
quadruple heart by-pass surgery and my
wife and I have been visiting as often as
possible.
It's easy to be impressed with "Hospital
high tech" these days!
Imagine. They can check for any heart
artery blockage with a line inserted in
your hand!
They can operate on a human heart
and repair those blocked arteries!
They can regulate the flow of medicine
into your body with machines that look
like small radios and sound a tone when
the supply is beginning to run low.
So, with all this high tech stuff, why
can't the make the elevators work?
My brother-in-law has been in two
facilities during his recovery.
Both have great staffs and all of the
most modern technical equipment
available.
Both also have "Out of Order" signs
on one of their elevators!
To be fair, one of those signs just
went up. The other has been in place
since the day we first visited.
While it isn't key to a patients
care or recovery, you've got to admit
it makes you think about how good all
the other equipment is! Sort of a "first
impression thing" if you get my drift!
Yesterday's visit was further
complicated when the one elevator
that was running seemed to be frozen
on the 5th floor while we waited for a
lift!
Fortunately it was not a malfunction!
A Food Service worker had
apparently locked the unit while she
loaded her carts onto the car.
Had we waited much longer we
probably would have been checking
those carts for leftovers!
Maybe it's time to send for the
Elevator Doctor?
Hope your ups and downs are
confined to the Department Stores
and that all your NEWS is good!
