    BETTER LATE THEN NEVER!

   The family story goes something like
this. My wife and her seven siblings often
received certain gifts each Christmas. The
boys could usually expect some sporting
equipment.
    One sister, Cathy, liked anything to do
with monkeys. The "why" may have to
wait for some future blog.
     But on one Christmas Day many years
ago if was my wife, not her sister, who
received a doll-like monkey as her gift.
That present came up in casual conversation
a week or two ago. And that's when, after
all those years, my wife learned that her
sister was always a little miffed that the
monkey didn't go to her.
       Last week we used the world wide
web to locate one of the "creatures." It
was available. But needed some tender
loving care. My wife is an expert at that!
       Some cleaning and a bit of modeling
clay covered the necessary care and, on
New Year's Day, my wife was able to
present her sister with the gift she had
longed for so many years ago. At the
same time you could say my wife was
able to "get that monkey off her back."
        Better late than never! This should be
an interesting year!
