SHADES!

                   SHADES!

      It's National Sunglasses Day my
friends! Time to show off your shades!
      I have at least three pair of
sunglasses. None are Foster Grants!
I seem to have no ability to keep my
glasses from scratching. That's if I
can keep them at all. I know at least
one pair is still safely contained in
the Fishing tackle box I dropped from
an old railroad bridge into the rising
tide coming into the Bay from the
ocean in West Wildwood, New Jersey!
        I keep one pair of sunglasses in
each of our two cars and another in a
drawer with my car keys just in case
I brought a pair into the house from one
of the cars and forget where I put them.
         This "holiday" is actually something
very serious. Brought to you by The
Vision Council, National Sunglasses Day
is a commemorative date held annually
on June 27 celebrating the importance of
wearing shades to protect the eyes from
the sun’s harsh ultraviolet (UV) rays.
        Of course they also make some folks
look "cool!"
