              SMILE!    YOU'RE ON....

    It's January 20th, 2021. It's "National

Camcorder Day." A date to salute that great

video device that's helped us to preserve so

many family memories. I used to do that with

an 8mm movie camera back on the day. But

those, originally only in black and white, didn't

include that valuable element of sound! When

VHS tapes finally came along you got motion,

color, and sound. But you had to carry a fairly

heavy video camera to get all that. Newer

formats solved that problem with camcorders

recording on electronic chips instead of bulky

tapes. And now, most everyone carries there

own camcorder as part of their Smartphone!

So, dust off the old home movies today, or

shoot some new ones and enjoy the memories!
