   A NEW UNUSUAL "HOLIDAY!"

   Now that Thanksgiving has come

and gone we've got a whole list of

special "shopping holidays" to observe.

We all know about Black Friday, Small

Shopping Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

But as of 2022 you can add a new one

to the list. The first Sunday after

Thanksgiving is now "Second Hand

Sunday." It's a day when you are

encouraged to do your shopping at

second hand stores. You can usually

find some great bargains and in some

cases you can help out a charity at

the same time. Salvation Army and

Goodwill Industries both operate

Second Hand stores. More than70% of

people in a recent survey said they

would have no objection to receiving

a gift that came from a second hand

store. Ironically only about 30%  of

those in that survey said they would

give a gift from such an outlet. But

give it a try! You can find some nice

merchandise at very reasonable 

prices. The only caution I might

offer would be to beware of buying

a garment from a second hand store

in Bangalore. You might end up

with a "Who is Sori now?!"
