NATIONAL BAGEL DAY!

  It's January 15th friends and that

means it's "National Bagel Day." The

Bagel! What a treat. They date from

the 1600's with origins in Poland and

Germany. Jewish immigrants are

credited with bringing them to New

York where they were an instant hit!

They was so much demand for bagels

that in 1900 the folks that made them

formed a Bagel Bakers Union! Millions

are sold throughout the country each

day. They are served in many ways.

Often with cream cheese. Butter is

another favorite. Some people like

them with jelly. There are all kinds

of combinations. In an sense bagels

are good friends because they're

always around when your "knead"
