Two For The Price of One!

Another night in a swank hotel that charges for
it's Wifi service! Seems the smaller the place the
easier it is to get on line!
With that being said and our travel time all
mixed up with your time back home I've decided
to offer a "2 for 1" Blog today.
If you want to read both that's fine.
If you want to save one for the next day that's
fine too. This way you'll get the blogs and I'll
say enough to but a meal.....OK....part of a meal.
First, let's get you all caught up on the "Grand
Canyon Disaster!"
Thankfully this was not the kind of
"disaster" the Canyon typically sees. In
those cases people back up just a little too
far when getting their picture taken and that
mile drop to the bottom does not end well!
    Our "disaster" was different!
With the exception of some late evening
showers our trip has been basically rain free.
We believe the reason is that one of our
fellow travelers, Lou, carries a "Lucky Umbrella!"
We've had a couple occasions where it looked
like the sky would open up before we got off the
bus at an attraction. But Lou would hold up his
umbrella and, sure enough, we wouldn't get wet!
Then, Tuesday, at the Grand Canyon as Lou
looked at the cloudy sky and announced we would
all stay dry.....he dropped the umbrella!
You know what happened next... right?
Yep, the rain began to fall accompanied by
hail and lighting!
Most of us did get a little damp.
Lou lost his luck and broke the umbrella!
We're all hoping he find another that will
keep him dry, one way or another, through
the rest of the summer!
Fortunately we had already visited two
fantastic vantage points along the Canyon's
East Rim and took in some of the most
majestic sights in these United States!
Except for getting a little damp, our
NEWS was all good!

     (BLOG 2)

     Wednesday dawned bright and sunny
as we headed for Sedona and our ride in
"The Pink Jeeps!"
Now before you start picking on me or
any of the other men in our party, I'd better
explain.
Yes, the jeeps are all painted a tranquil
shade of pink.
But they, and the paths they drive, are
not for the faint at heart!
      These specially designed off road
vehicles go more "off road" than any
other you'll ever see!
They have special permits that allow
them to travel over (and I do mean over)
Red Rock formations in the National
Forest just outside of town!
We drove at a 45 degree angle in
some spots and the screams from the
other Jeeps in our caravan were every
bit as loud as those coming from the
"Twister" at Knoebels!
My front passenger seat at least
gave me a preview of the next scare
to come! Of course it didn't stop it
from happening!
I guess it's really kind of neat
when you think about the color
combinations. Pink Jeeps, Red
Rocks, and Whites faces!
Hope your roads are paved, that
your NEWS is good, and that you'll
enjoy the photos!
