GIVING TUESDAY
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH., 2017
GIVING TUESDAY!
Time to get serious today my friends.
We've had Black Friday, Small
Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.
I'm not sure how Sunday got left out of
the mix but November 28th is "Giving
Tuesday."
While most of the things purchased
on those three busy shopping days will
end up being given to someone as
Christmas presents the focus on this global
Giving Tuesday is on charitable giving.
Promoters of this day point out there
are a number of ways to take part in the
effort.
Of course many charitable organizations
count on people's generosity during the
Holiday season. The Salvation Army's Red
Kettle Drive is one of the better know fund
raisers at this time of the year.
You can also give material items
rather than cash. Toys for Tots is hoping
to get gifts for children who might otherwise
have nothing. Area missions and food banks
are looking for canned goods, coats, and
gloves.
You can also give just by speaking
out on behalf of those agencies you believe
deserve support or give of your time in
ringing those Salvation Army bells, or
serving meals at local food kitchens.
There's a lot of need out there
but a lot of ways to help deal with it.
"Giving Tuesday" is a reminder to us all!
Hope you'll give however you
can so that all your NEWS is good!
