REMEMBERING THE GENERAL!
This is a holiday that could easily be missed.
In fact I'll bet there are a lot of you who weren't
even planning a celebration today!
General Pulaski Memorial Day is a U.S.
holiday honoring General Kazimierz
Pulaski. a Polish hero of the American
Revolution! And it's official! The observance
was established by Congress in 1929 and has
been proclaimed every year since by the
President!
There's a village in upstate New York
names for the General, a Skyway in New
Jersey and, I think, a street in Nanticoke!
And while the day itself is dedicated to
Pulaski's memory it is also intended as a
time to recognize all of those of Polish
heritage and their contributions to our
country.
I don't have a list of those individuals
or contributions but anybody who brought
kielbasa to the U.S. is OK in my book!!!!
Hope you'll join in the celebration and
that all your NEWS is good!
