I'LL DRINK TO THAT!
SATURDAY, APRIL 6TH., 2019
I'LL DRINK TO THAT!
I wasn't around during Prohibition but
I've heard it didn't go over very well! And
that brings us to today's "holiday."
The sale of alcoholic beverages, including
beer. was banned in the United States
between 1920 and 1933.
The Constitutional amendment that
finally ended Prohibition (the 21st.
Amendment) officially became law
at 12:01am of April 7th of 1933.
That's when April 6th became
"New Beer's Eve!"
There were lines at U.S. Breweries
and Distilleries that day as thirsty
folks waited for midnight to get
their legal liquor!
Of course some of you have been
celebrating ever since! I'll likely
stick with my Cherry Pepsi, but
here's to ya!
Hope you celebrate the day
responsibly and that all your NEWS
is good!
