HERE COMES THE SUN!
SUNDAY, JANUARY 5TH., 2019
HERE COMES THE SUN!
Here comes the sun folks! But don't
expect to get a sunburn!
Today is "Earth at Perihelion Day!"
And you thought it was just Sunday!
Actually this is the day when our
planet makes its closest approach to
the sun!
At one point today the Earth will
be a mere 91,398,199 miles away
from the sun.
I always figured the closer we
got the warmed things would get and
the more sunshine we'd see.
But it's still cold around here and,
close or not, it gets dark around 4:30!
The problem is, we're tilted! Well,
not us, but the earth! Our spot on this
old globe is tilted away from the sun!
We call it Winter.
I'm going to try leaning the other
way. But I'm told it won't make a
difference!
Any extra sunshine the earth gets
today gets soaked up the oceans.
Guess we'll just have to wait for
the Aphelion! We're much further
away from the sun then. But we
call it Summer!
Should I say Wham?
Hope you've got your sunglasses
ready and that all your NEWS is
good!
