TURN, TURN, TURN!
Welcome to May 8th everybody.
"National Windmill Day." It is, in
fact, a holiday in the Netherlands
(you can read that Holland if you
wish.) Windmills have been used
there for hundreds of years to reclaim
land otherwise flooded by the sea.
There are about 1200 windmills in
the Netherlands but only about 300
are operational. Those have all been
designated national landmarks. But
on National Windmill Day some 900
are open to the public to allow them
to see how they operate. While it is
not a national holiday here in the
U.S. perhaps it ought to be. If we
haven't yet exceeded the number of
windmills in the Netherlands we
surely will! They're growing like
weeds on mountaintops all across
this area and the country....as
electric power generators! We need
power and "the answer my friend,
is blowing in the wind! Hope you're
well and that all your NEWS is good!
