CHEERS!

    MONDAY, AUGUST 17TH

            CHEERS!

    There was good reason to cheer
yesterday.....for the most part!
     After weeks of absolutely no
practice our grandson joined his
team on the soccer field and
promptly clobbered the opponents.
The final score was something
like 6 to 3. It would have been a
dozen or so to 3 but the other team
had a very talented goalie who
stopped about ten shots in a row!
He probably practiced!
     My grand daughter made her
debut as a Cheerleader for the
Exeter Panthers D Team. They
are a mini football team. All
dolled up with her new uniform
and pompoms she and her entire
squad shouted out encouragement
to the little guys in uniform on the
field.
     They were loud and clear for
the spectators. But I'm thinking
the team might not have heard
them. My observation was prompted
by watching one of the home team
players rushing more than half the
field to cross the goal line. I saw
the impressive run twice. Unfortunately
he was running the wrong way!!!!!!!
I found myself hoping the defense
would tackle him before he crossed
the line!
      The girls may have to add another
cheer to their repertory....."Turn around,
Turn Around, Now, Now!"
       Hope the players listen..and that
all your NEWS good!
