Christmas In July

       THURSDAY, JULY 6TH.

        CHRISTMAS IN JULY!

    Christmas in July has become a
popular summertime feature in some
places. A couple Youth organizations
run special activities for the kids and
there's a satellite radio station that digs
out old time programs originally aired
in December of the 1940's and 50's.
    Still, I was really surprised to find
a Christmas card in our mailbox the
other day! Either someone was really
getting a head start on the holiday or
this was a big joke. Well, as it turns
out, neither was the case.
     That became evident when we got
the second surprise and realized the
Christmas card was one we had sent to
an old friend last December!
     Apparently we had the address
slightly wrong and our season's greeting
could not be delivered. That was totally
understandable.
     BUT....where has the card been for
the past 7 months?!
     Our return address was clearly
posted on the envelope. In fact someone
must have used it to get it back to us
this week! I've heard of the "Dead
Letter Office." Maybe there's a "Critically
Ill Letter Office" too?
      I've got my friend's correct address
now. But, do I resend the card right
away or wait till this Christmas? Maybe I'd
better send it now in the hope it will
actually reach him by Christmas!
     Hope I beat the postage increase
and that all your NEWS is good!
