SOMETHING TO WINE ABOUT!
I'll give you something to wine about!
This is National Wine Day! It's a day to
celebrate a major industry here in the
United States and a growing one for
agriculture here in Pennsylvania! We
now rank 7th in the country in terms of
wine production. We have some 300
vineyards and many many wine
festivals. Of course wine really isn't new
to Pennsylvania. Our founding State father,
William Penn, planted a vineyard near
Philadelphia 330 years ago! And while my wife
and I enjoy drives to the wine country around
Lake Seneca, New York, we've found some
great wineries not far from home. One of
our favorites is Cherry Valley near Stroudsburg.
In the Bible, Jesus turns water into wine. Here
in Pennsylvania we use grapes! A toast to
National Wine Day! Hope you're well and
that all your NEWS is good!
