Ain't No Party Like A Scranton Party!

We had a party in Scranton yesterday! And,
like they say on The Office, "There ain't no party
like a Scranton Party!"
We were marking a 150th anniversary!
No, not a birthday or wedding anniversary.
And, despite what you may have heard, it
wasn't my Birthday! I haven't 150...yet!
We were celebrating our 150th ECTV Live
television show! It only feels like 150 years!
The "we" in this case includes me, Judge Tom
Munley, and Mark Migilore, the young man who
operates Electric City Television on Comcast
Ch19 and rums the camera for our program/
I produce and co-host the show which we
do live on Monday's and is recorded for play
back between 10 and 12 times throughout the
week.
I came up with the idea for the show in
2010 after I was "retired" from WYOU TV.
The whole idea was to do a program to
promote area entertainment events or services
that are offered to the public free of charge!
Look hard enough and you can probably
find something free for the public just about
every night of the week!
I've found plenty of events and special
services since the program premeired. The
problem is finding someone willing to talk
about them, on camera, live, and at the time
and place we need them!
A whole lot of those who have said "Yes"
turned our for our show yesterday. That
included a couple of the Lackawanna County
Commissiones and the Mayor who brought
Proclaimations for us and representatives
of many of the organizations that host those
free events and services we talk about.
We know how to pick them! They have
plenty to promote and many of them don't
eat cake.....which left more for me!
The show runs, generally, at Noon, 6pm,
and Midnight on Electric City Television
so those of you on the Comcast system will
have several chance to catch it this week.
     Of course....the cake's all gone!
Hope you're taking advantage of all the
free stuff we talk about and that all your
NEWS is good!
