THE MIDDLE!

   FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH., 2018
             THE MIDDLE!

Although most of it has gone by
without your ever knowing it this
is International Celebrate Your Name
Week!
Each day has been devoted to
various aspects of our names. Today
is "Middle Name Pride Day."
     Few people spend much time
talking about their middle name.
Some folks do use their middle initial
from time to time.
     The late Luzerne County Coroner
always used his middle initial when
testifying at court proceedings and
made sure he told people it was his
middle initial.
That initial was E and when he
put his name on the record he wanted
to make sure people didn't think his
name was Georgey Hudock. He'd
say "George, middle initial E. Hudock."
        Some people have several middle
names. My wife, for instance, has a
given middle name and another that
was tacked onto her for confirmation
ceremonies. I just call her Honey
which is none of her actual names!
My middle name is Singley. It
was my mother's maiden name.
There's plenty of the family still
around.l If fact we Singleys have
what's thought to be the oldest
family reunion in the state!
         Two of my grandsons have
David as their middle name. It's not
necessarily because of me but I like
to think so anyway.
Some people like to use their
middle name as though it was their
real first name. William Badley Pitt
is one of them. James Paul McCartney
is another.
          How many people know your
middle name? This would be a great
day to share it. And explain it if you
feel it needs an explanation!
Hope you've got a neat one
and that all your NEWS is good!
