             POEM IN YOUR POCKET DAY!

        It's April 10th everybody. And April 10th is

        'National Poem In Your Pocket Day!" It's an

        observance, part of National Library Month,

        that was started in 2002 by the Mayor's Office

        in New York City. It spread out from there and

        is now being observed throughout the country

        and in Canada as well. I liked the idea so I

        came up with my own short rhyme just for the

        occasion. Here it is!    

                 PUT A POEM IN YOUR POCKET TO CARRY ALONG

         THEN TAKE IT AND READ IT WHEN THINGS SEEM ALL WRONG.

         MAKE THE RHYME HAPPY, AND FILLED WITH GOOD CHEER

         TO BRIGHTEN YOUR OWN DAY AND ANYONE NEAR.

         WITH A POEM IN YOUR POCKET YOU'LL NEVER GO WRONG

         READ IT, RECITE IT, OR TURN IT TO SONG

         SHARE IT WITH OTHERS AS YOU WALK EACH LONG MILE

         AND HOPE IT BRINGS COMFORT, SOME JOY AND A SMILE!   

              So that's it. My contribution to Poem In Your
