    HOW LOW SHOULD YOU GO?

January 2nd is one of those unusual

"holidays" I like to tell you about so you

can celebrate if you'd like. It's "55 Mile

Per Hour Speed Limit Day!" Yep! It was

signed into law on January 2nd., of 1974!

OPEC countries had institued an oil

embagro and there were gas shortages all

over the U.S. People were waiting in long

lines to try to fill up their gas tanks.

Preisdent Nixon signed a laaw prohibiting

states from setting any speed limit that

exceded 55 miles per hour. The belief was

the law would help conserve gas while

saving lives at the same time. The law wasn't

actually repealed until October 28th., of 1995!

These days if you see anybody doing 55 miles

per hur...wave as you "sail by!" Hope you're

careful whatever your speed and that all your

NEWS is good!
