  HOW FAR CAN YOU GO!?

   This is an amazing, and challenging

unofficial holiday! July 6th., is

"International Cherry Pit Spitting 

Day!" A farmer with several fields

of fruit trees started this holiday

in 1974. Almost immediately it

was picked up in countries around

the world. You can enjoy a cherry

then take a stab at the world's

record. That record, by the way,

is held by Brian Krause who

spit his cherry pit 93 feet six and

a half inches! Since we got a supply

of sweet cherries last weekend I

thought I'd try to challenge that

world record. Unfortunately I

swallowed the pit! Oh well,

there's always next year. Hope
