BIG WIND DAY!
If you're looking for something to
celebrate or observe today's unusual
"holiday' may be the answer. April
12th is "Big Wind Day!" It was on
April 12th of 1934 that the
Observatory on top of Mount
Washington in New Hampshire
recorded a wind speed of 231
miles per hour! That's the highest
recorded wind speed in the
Northern or Western Hemisphere!
You can visit Mount Washington
by car or Cog Railroad throughout
year and you're likely to experience
some strong wind gusts! Hopefully
not at record speed. If you can't get
to Mount Washington I'd suggest
a trip to visit the politicians in
Washington where you're likely
to note some strong winds (read
that 'hot air') most every day.
Hope your feet are planted
solidly on the ground and that
all your NEWS is good!
