"IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!
If it's the last Friday in October there's
one thing of which you can be sure! It's
Frankenstein Friday! Frankenstein! The
perfect Halloween monster. He's been
scaring young and old for over 100 years.
He was born, rather created, by Mary
Shelley in 1818 when she was just 21-years-
old. The actor most identified as the monster
is Boris Karloff. His image is still used in
masks produced today. Ironically he wasn't
the studio's first choice for the role. Bella
Lugosi, best know for playing Dracula, was
offered the part. But he turned it down because
the monster never spoke during the movie! He
wanted to have dialog! In retrospect, he should
have remained silent and accepted the offer.
It paid off bug for Karloff! Don't know how
we're suppose to celebrate the day. I'd suggest
a scary movie or two, one of which should
probably be Frankenstein! Hope you enjoy the
show, that your're well, and that all your NEWS
is good!
