DAYS OF INFAMY!
It's December 7th. Pearl Harbor Day.
ON this date in 1941 the Empire of Japan
staged a surprise attack on American
military forces at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
sending the United States into World War II.
We face another attack this year. But this
time it's a virus rather than bombs that
suddenly confronted our country and , like 1941.
rest of the the world. Our response has been
just a bit surprising. After Pearl Harbor
everyone came together to deal with rationed
meat and gasoline. People everywhere collected
their scrap metal so it could be turned into
ammunition to be fired at the enemy. This
year the battle plan involves social distancing
and wearing masks. Some people aren't
pleased with the plan, partly because they
don't like being told what to do. I suppose
people in the 40's weren't especially pleased
with rationing their meat and beef either. But
their efforts helped win the war. Perhaps our
efforts will help win this war too! Hope you're
