UNPUBLISHED!
2020 has been a year filled with disappointments.
We couldn't have expected them. Still, there one
that really surprised me! For the first time in over
50 years my name does not appear in the Telephone
Directory! Yes, we still have a phone book! Of
course it's no where near what it used to be. The
very first phone book was published in the Boston
area in 1878/ It was only one page because there
was only 97 people in the area with telephones!
Over the years the phone books grew and grew!
There was a time when a young man who wanted
to show off his strength would do so by ripping
a telephone directory in half/ They're a lot
closer to that original phone book these days.
And here's another surprise! Since I'm not in
the book how are all those telemarketers getting
my number? Well, at least I'm still around to
take the calls! Hope you're well and that all your
NEWS is good!
Maybe you have shared your number to some other companies or websites/services and they might have sold your numbers to telemarketers, or they simply randomize the numbers that they are calling. I personally always ignore them. Sometimes I lookup the numbers on some complaint boards like http://phonebook.ai to see if people have received the same calls from those numbers, and then block them.
