   THE BIRTH OF "FAKE NEWS?"

    As a long time reporter I can assure

you the term "fake news" is a lot more

political than accurate. To many, news

becomes "fake" when it reports something

the reader, or watcher, or listner dosen't

agree with! That said there have certainly

been examples of fake news. The greatest

example bega on this very day in 1835!

That's the day a series of six articles began

in a New York City newspaper called "The

Sun." They delt with the supposed discovery

of life on the moon and were falsely attributed

to a famous astronomer of the day!  The articles

described animals on the lunar surface and even

winger humanoids! Five years after the series

was published a reporter who had been working

at the Sun admitted to being the author! It was,

perhaps, both the beginning of what we now

call fake news as well as the adage "Don't

believe everything you read!" Now, of course,

we have the internet where everything is true.

Right? Hope you analyze before your agree 

and that all your NEWS is good!
