It's time you know the truth. We usually mark the
life of a famous man by celebrating his birthday.
Today, however, we note the day a famous man
passed. This is "Thomas Crapper Day!" Crapper
is regarded by many as the man who invented
the fluse toilet. Trouble is, that isn't true! The
flush toilet was invented way back in 1596 by a
man named John Harrington. Crapper did make
major renovatyions to bathroom fixtures many
years later including the invention of the ball cock
which keeps the water from overflowing when the
toilet tank is filled. And how about the word "crap?"\
Most people assune iut evolved from Thomas Crapper's
name/ But it didn't! It's a very old Middle English
word meaning refuse. So, yoi can flush those other
stories right down the drain! Hope you're well and
