MY NEW YEAR'S IDEA!
Happy New Year friends! 2021 showed
up right on schedule but, unfortunately, some
of our annual traditions came in tarnished by
2020's pandemic! The ball drop on Times
Square was for a TV audience only this year.
It was the same with the Tournament of Roses
Parade. The annual Polar Bear Plunge at Coney
Island was cancelled as was Philadelphia's
traditional Mummer's Parade. So many events
cancelled last year so avoid large social
gatherings and the possible spread of the
virus. So here's what I'm thinking. Three to
six months from now the vaccines should
have been administered to the vast majority
of people who want them. Somewhere at
that point in time I believe we should have
a special brand new holiday (or holiday
week or at least a weekend) to celebrate!
We can call it Survivor Days or Victory
Days! We are due, in fact owed, a major
celebration. Let's start the planning now!
It will give us something to look forward
to! Hope you'll come up with some great
thoughts and that all your NEWS is good.
