HOLD ON TO CHRISTMAS!

   FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27TH., 2019
       HOLD ON TO CHRISTMAS!

I joined some of the family for a visit
to the spectacular Christmas lighting
display at the Stone Hedge Golf Course
near Tunkhannock last night. It was my
second visit this season.
There was a decent crowd. But nowhere
near as big as the days leading up to
December 25th,
         We start thinking about Christmas,
whether we want to or not, sometime
around Halloween. That's when the
first advance store decorations begin
showing up.
But with all that long buildup, the
day comes and, hours later it's over.
At least it seems that way.
   Actually the Christmas celebration
seems to grow each year and, as that
great philosopher Yogi Berra reminds
us, "It ain't over till it's over."
Back in 1952 a small AM Radio
station in Lansford began the tradition
of broadcasting Christmas music from
Thanksgiving through "Russian Christmas"
on January 6th.
    The station continues its tradition!
In Scranton the annual free performances
of "The Nutcracker Ballet" continue through
Sunday at the Theater at North..
The Christmas Displays will light up Nay
Aug Park in the Electric City through New
Year's Eve.
    In Columbia County Berwick's
traditional Christmas Boulevard will be
illuminated through New Year's Day.
   And, throughout the area, homeowners
who rival Clark Grizzwald will
undoubtedly be getting the most out of
their decorating efforts!
There's plenty of Christmas left if you
just look for it!
Hope you do....and that all of your
NEWS is good!
