HOW TO BE KID READY!

One of the duties of Grandparents is to
try to keep your home as "kid ready' as
possible.
Here are some tips that might help
those of you who are new to grand parenting
or hope to soon assume the title
From about the time they're able to
talk you'll find that visiting grand kids are
always hungry. If there are two or more
visiting, however, they will not be hungry
at the same time and, given the choice, will
never want the same thing.
Your best bet is to have a supply of hot
dogs ready to be either fried in a pan or
cooked in the microwave. They're all
suppose to like hot dogs!
Next, it's important to have a supply
of toys tucked away in a corner or two.
They will seem more appealing if
they are in a place that's hard to reach.
Having duplicate toys, in case of
multiple grand kids, will be of no use.
They will both want the same toys
and two of each if they can grab them
first.
Television is an option IF you have
the Disney, Nickelodeon, or local
PBS stations. Others are not
recommended. The programs may be
"G" rated but, somehow, somebody
is sneaking in commercials that don't
always reach that level.
Of course it's really great to have
a nice community playground somewhere
nearby. You can never go wrong with a
good sliding board and a set of swings
and such!
You will, of course, have to train
yourself to push two at one time if two
or more kids are visiting. You will
also find it more difficult than you
might imagine to get off your side of
the sea saw without allowing the child
to  slam to the ground.
It is highly advisable that you DO NOT
follow the kids into any tunnel-like
feature on playground equipment. They
are able to exit. The same cannot always
be said for adults! I write from observation
rather than experience...but some things
should be obvious!
Hope you have a good time with your
grand kids and that all your NEWS is
good!
