RATED "R"

They say you can't judge a book by it's cover.
After our theater visit Friday I'm not so sure you
can judge a movie by the "Stars" it gets in your
local newspaper review!
Judging from what I've seen in the way of
reviews the feature "Ted" is creating a lot of talk.
If that talk is anything like you hear in the
movie itself it's probably filled with four letter
words.
I've noted before that my Dad was a
projectionist. One of my perks as his son was
getting into a lot of movies for free. Consequently
I have, literally, seen thousands of movies over the
years.
"Ted" has more foul language in it's 106 minutes
than in all of the rest of them I've seen combined!
It's a comedy and it does have a story.
It's rated "R."  That means children under 17
have to be accompanied by a parent to see the
feature. According to an article in the Los Angeles
Times many parents, mainly moms, are taking their
kids to see the movie !
Maybe they didn't know about the language.
Maybe the moms are using it as an educational
experience to make sure they're up to date with the
very latest expletives and sexually based humor.
Let me put it this way......were this movie
ever to make it to television the "beeps" would
make it seem as though all of the dialog was
done in Morse Code!
If Ralphie (from A Christmas Story) stared
in "Ted" he would definitely die from soap
poisoning after HIS mom saw the flick!
If you're trying to impress your first date,
or your own mom, you might want to miss this
one!
Hey, if you're of age and can take this kind
of feature for what it's worth....go for it.
And that's what's nice about 20 screens. There
are a lot of other choices!
Hope you watch your language and that all
your NEWS is good.
