MAY DAYS!
Welcome to May! It's a very busy
month in case you didn't know. It's
national barbecue month, national
hamburger month, national salad
month, blood pressure month, and
and national older Americans month,
just to name a few. In many countries
around the world, at least 140, this
day, May 1st, is a legal holiday. It's\basically
like our Labor Day. Workers in many of
those countries have the day off. In
countries like Russia and China they
have big parades. Nut they must have
trouble getting High School Marching
Bands because they usually just have
rockets and such in their line of march.
Here in the United States Mayday is
observed more like the eve of summer.
You may remember seeing pictures of
kids dancing around the Maypole. I
never actually saw a Maypole and I
certainly never danced around one!
It's not a holiday in the U.S. with one
exception. May 1st in Lei Day in
Hawaii! It's celebrated there every
year. Hope you enjoy the day
where ever you happen to be abd
that akk your NEWS is good
