Another New Year!

    MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH.

       ANOTHER NEW YEAR!

You're not likely to see the ball coming
down on Times Square this evening. But
plenty of people will be celebrating New
Year just the same!
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year,
began at sundown Saturday and runs
through sunset on Tuesday.
     That's what I call a Celebration!
Most of us try to cram everything into
one night. And at one of the coldest times
of the year at that!
Rosh Hashanah is believed to be the
anniversary of the creation of Adam and
Eve.
You remember Adam. That's the guy who
lost a rib then got tossed out of the garden of
Eden after Eve, the one who got his rib, talked
him into eating an apple from the "tree of
knowledge."  Men have been learning ever
since!
While our friends of the Jewish faith don't
have a Time's Square celebration they do have
the blowing of the Shofar which is sort of the
original version of those noise makers the
rest of us use. They're so far ahead! In fact
while most of us are stuck in 2015, Rosh
Hashanah marks the year 5776 on the Jewish
calendar!
That's a lot of history and,for those who
remember "Fiddler on the Roof," a lot of
tradition!
I'd like to see us all join in the celebration!
And to those who will...."Shanah Tovah"....
[have a] good year.
And may all your NEWS be good!
