How To "Do It Youself1'

I've had a little sign on our front screen door for
well over a year now. It reads..."Please make sure
this door is closed."
Over the years the frame has pulled away from
its moorings and the door was off center.
Unless you made the special effort to make sure
it was fully closed you risked having the door torn
off its hinges or having its glass shattered in any
strong winds. And we've had plenty of them this
year.
Realizing that any of you might face a similar
situation I decided I'd better outline the repair
process.
You'll need some tools. Things like an electric
drill. A screw driver. (If you need a flat head tell
everyone you need a Phillips. That way you'll
actually find the one you need!). You'll need a
saw (electric would be best) to cut the wood to
repair your frame. Of course you'll nee some
wood to cut! It should be new wood, not
something that's been laying in the back yard
for several years.
A pencil comes in handy to mark the wood
just were you want to cut it.
You'll need a whole lot of screws and probably
some nails. Different sizes are good because
sometimes you need little ones and sometimes
you need big ones. They actually sell these things
in specific lengths.
You'll need a place to put all the screws you take out
of the original frame so you an use them again
when things are going back together. If you drop
a screw or an important nail you'll have to find
it so you may need a metal detector.
If you're using battery powered drills and saws
you'll need extra batteries and, probably, a
charger to make sure you're always recharging
a low battery to get it ready for when the next one
runs out of juice.
We then moved on to our camper to begin
repairs to the porch there. My son, with his large
electric saw, expertise, and strength, joined
the work there.
I learned a lot of things during my screen
door and camper repair project.
The MOST IMPORTANT.......................
You'll need a good friend with all those
tools who knows how to use them so the job
actually gets done. A strong son can be useful too.
And, if you're like me, you'll  SIT BACK AND
 STAY OUT OF THEIR WAY!!!!
     Hope you've got such a friend (like I do),maybe
a strong son too and that all your NEWS is good!
