You Can't Get There From Here!

Our tour group boarded an early morning bus
as we began our trip to Canada. Getting up early
turned out to be the easy part!
Our first challenge took place at a New York
bedroom community Amtrak Station called Rhinecliff.
The Ticket Agent didn't seem thrilled to find
a bus load of tourists descending upon her suburban
station. Maybe it was our Pennsylvania accent?
We then learned that the tracks were two stories
below the lobby and there was no one available to
carry our luggage to the loading area. I suppose that
fact was somewhat "academic" as there was no
Baggage Can on which to load the luggage anyway.
Everyone would be expected to carry his or her own
suitcases and "carry ons"....on.
Fortunately several of the men took charge
and, with the help of a young gentleman already on
board, the bags were loaded and stored away.
Now everyone could relax and enjoy the
countryside. And they did....for a very long time!
The trip is suppose to be about 8 hours....but
then there is the border!  Canada's Customs Agents
had some "problems" with two people on our coach
(No, not me or even any member of our tour group)>
That lead to about a 2 hour delay!
But, we finally made it and are now enjoying
our tour of Canada (except for the nearly $14 WiFi
hotel charge which I decided not to pay or the $8.95
bottle of water in the room which, like my computer,
remained closed all night.
I'm sending now from a speeding VIA Rail
train which offers free food, drinks, and web link
which comes with your ticket.
Next Blog after I've been around awhile and
find another FREE sending link!
Hope you'll be there waiting and that all your
NEWS is good!
