It's.......PARTY TIME!!!!!!!
We hit the first in a string of Christmas parties
yesterday. And this one will be hard to top!
It was a Kid's Christmas party thrown by
Cascades Paper Products for the families of its
employees.
Our son-in-law works for the company. But
since he was on duty making napkins and such
we accompanied our daughter and two of our
grand kids to the festivities!
The company goes all out to make this a
special day for children. And we got to share in
fun! And......the goodies!
Take the cupcakes for instance. Each was
adorned with a Christmas character that, once
removed from the cup cake, became a holiday
ring! They were topped with an icing that
contained a two week supply of sugar and
calories!
There were those little ice cream containers
you could use as a chaser. My grand daughter's
came with a mixture of chocolate and vanilla
that strangely resembled a silhouette of Batman!
There was pizza and chicken too and, as you
might expect, plenty of napkins to keep things
clean!
Santa showed up too....with a sack of
presents that brought smiles to the faces of a
couple hundred kids! Cascade and old Saint
Nick are pretty darn generous!
The line to see the Jolly Old Gent formed
fast with preschoolers called to the front
first. Then 4 to 8-year-olds. Then 8 to 10.
The Christmas music was wonderful.
But, apparently, a little too loud as I must
have missed the call for my age group to
come forward. And I probably would have
been the only one in line!
That's OK. I'll just wait up for the big
guy on Christmas Eve! He knows I've been
really good. Well...pretty good. Well...hey...
nobody's perfect!!
Anyway it was a great party!
I had visions of "Old Fezzywink's" party
in "A Christmas Carol" when the businessman
made sure business was set aside for a time
to allow and encourage families to observe
the holiday!
Almost makes a tear come to you eye.
But, if it does, Cascade makes tissues
too!
Hope you're on Santa's "Nice List"
and that all your NEWS is good!
