Merrily We Roll Along!

This is the big week everybody in our
family
For the first time in a lot of years all of
my wife's sisters and brothers will be together
at the same time. There are eight siblings all
together. This should be some big time!
I see it a little like the 1959 gathering in
 Apalachin, New York.
The festivities began yesterday when my
brother-in-law arrived from Hawaii.
Each of the clan has his or her own
special personalities and idiosyncrasies.
This one is on a never ending quest to find the
best Pizza in the country. It's one of the reasons
he longs for an occasional return to Pennsylvania
and, specifically, Old Forge!
The self proclaimed Pizza Capital of the State
is definitely in the running for his vote.
Yesterday it got some extra votes when, just
outside Arcaro & Genell's, he discovered two
new Bocce Ball Courts!
Needless to say, after a few rounds of onion,
pepperoni, and mushroom covered trays, we
found ourselves dueling under the hot sun with
tools of the Bocce Ball sport!
You roll a tiny white ball, the boccino or pallino,
onto the court then try to roll larger cannon ball
sized spheres as close to it as possible. The closest
ball or balls get points. It can be a lot of fun and,
as they say, the family that plays together....argues
as to which ball is actually closest!
I really grew to like the game as our team racked
 up points against our opponents.
This was just day one of the fun. More family
members will be arriving later this week so there's
no telling what's in store!
It's a pretty good bet, however, that we'll be
seeing more pizza as my brother-in-law's search
for the perfect pie continues!
Hope he doesn't like anchovies and that all of
 your NEWS is good!

  1. Have your brother-in-law try Maroni's Pizza in West Scranton. Just up the road a few miles from Arcaro & Genell's.
