Turning Up The Heat!

Furnaces throughout our area are coming
back to life!
It's those overnight temperatures that have
awakened them from their Summer sleep. The
50's and 60's of midday are not all that
uncomfortable. It's those 40's that send a chill
and thoughts of winter yet to come.
We scheduled a furnace cleaning for
yesterday then got the surprise of a lifetime
when the guy actually showed up! Last year's
appointments fell by the wayside like falling
leaves as the service man, we were told, gave
priority to emergency cases. Luckily, in spite
of not getting service, we didn't have one.
And now I'm wondering if the movie
theater has decided to employ it's heating system
as another accessory to it's feature presentations.
They already have 3D, and Extreme Digital.
Yesterday I joined some friends as we went
to see "Captain Phillips." It's a great and exciting
film and, without giving away any of the plot
(which you probably remember from the true
story which dominated the headlines when the
actual events took place) there are several
scenes in a modern day life boat which is like
a sealed can floating in the waves.
I was thinking, as I watched, out hot it must
be inside the thing. Then I noticed I was beginning
to sweat! Wow! How realistic can you get?
My companions complained about the heat
after the show as well!
Now we're all wondering if it was a special
effect to compliment the movie or, more likely,
that the theater's heating system was amplified by
the crowded auditorium and the fact we were
sitting in an upper row of seats.
If it's the former we'd prefer to stick with 2D,
with Stereo sound. Perhaps will have to find seats
in the lower rows!
I don't mind it when characters are in the hot
seat. But I do think the audience should be spared!
Hope you can keep your cool at the movies and
that all of your NEWS is good!
