Looking For Nessie

Our scheduled cruise on Lock Ness was on
top of my "Can't Wait List" as our tour group
made its was through Scotland.
A lot of other people had the same thought!
As soon as one packed tour boat could be
docked and unloaded another long line of
passengers were waiting to jump on board!
The Lock is long, deep, choppy, and
all in view of a beautiful shoreline.
But few people were looking at the shore!
On this cruise all eyes were focused on
the water. Every day people on similar cruises
scan the waves. They're all hoping to get a
glimpse of Nessie....The Lock Ness Monster!
I was not immune from "Nessie fever."
With the rolling waves all around us it's
easy to allow your mind to turn each one into
a strange hump suddenly appearing from the
depths!
And if wave watching becomes too
tedious the vessel is equipped with sonar
screens that constantly search the water
ahead, to the sides, and under the boat!
A lot of us were hoping "Nessie" would
swim up to the bottom of the boat so we could
see him, or her, on the TV screen.
Our bus guide shared his own
personal belief that there's no "dinosaur"
living within the confines of Lock Ness.
That said, he also admitted that while staying
at a Youth Hostel years back he and two
companions spotted something they were
not able to explain breaking the surface of
the lake.
I think we would see "Nessie" a lot
more often if you were allowed to throw
food into the water. Then again...what if
"Nessie" is a man eater!!
To make sure no guest goes away
disappointed the boat crew has pasted
silhouettes of a sea serpent on several
windows of the vessel so passengers
can get a photo of the lock's waters
with the image in their shot.
I was just wondering how they did it
in my final photo which was not taken
through the window!
Hope you see what I mean and that
all your NEWS is good!
