Thanks for the ride Tom!

Tom Magliozzi drove off into the
sunset yesterday.
The name will not be familiar to
all of you. But those who listened
to "Car Talk" on National Public
Radio each week will remember
him as one half of the team that
came to be know as "Click and
Clack, the Tappet Brothers."
    Tom and his younger brother
Ray offered automotive advice to
listeners who called the show. But
they did so with humor.....lots of
humor!
     People called, or just listened,
as much for the laughs as any
advice on what was causing those
strange noises in their vehicles!
Any of my vehicles could have
provided enough comic material for
a feature length picture!
There are not many good comedy
teams these days. Certainly not
Classic teams like Laurel & Hardy,
Abbott & Costello, or, to a lesser
extent Martin & Lewis.
Tom and Ray were a classic
team! At the end of each program
each brother advised listeners......
"Don't drive like my brother."
      Even though the production of
new programs stopped in 2012, series
reruns continue to bring laughs and
smiles to listeners throughout the
country. Good clean humor that
seems all too hard to come by in this
modern era.
I don't know if the reruns will
continue in the wake of Tom's passing.
Hope they'll keep the brothers on
the road and on the air.....and that all
your NEWS is good!
