AN OPTICAL DELUSION!

   TUESDAY, JULY 9TH., 2019
     AN OPTICAL DELUSION!

   I watched in awe Monday as the
TV news video showed a Tractor Trailer
driver confidently driving his rig into a
big puddle that covered Oak Street in
Pittston Township. Except the puddle
quickly became more of a lake as the
water reached just below the driver's
window!
    The motor drown to a stop and the
driver climbed onto the roof of his cab.
     Somebody eventually threw a life
preserver to him and pulled him to
safety. I'm still not sure where they
came up with a life preserver.
      Perhaps the trucker never saw
the roof of the nearly totally submerged
KIA in the "puddle."
      Maybe he took the term "big rig"
a little too literally.
      Or is it possible he never heard the
warnings we get with every heavy
rainstorm. "Never drive through
standing water!?"
       It never looks deep. Does it?
       Good thing I took the long way
to Walmart! I had intended to drive
up Oak Street!
        Hope the water has drained by
now and that all your NEWS is good!
