  BEST GARBAGE ON THE BLOCK!

    I saw them lined up along our street
early Thursday morning. Large purple
garbage bags set out ready for the
weekly pickup/
     Some were just placed along the
side of the street. A few were set out
on top of anything to get them above
street level.
     Ours, on the other hand, was inside
a large plastic can with a lid fastened
in place with a very tight bungee cord.
      All those others would have been
extremely easy targets for the bear that's
been visiting our park lately. But, apparently,
he's extremely selective and only likes
"the best."
      I found our can across the street at
the beginning of a dirt road that leads
into the woods. The bungee still held
the lid but not firmly in place.
       Our purple bag had been removed
from the can and was ripped open giving the
bruin access to a week's worth of scraps
and left overs!
        Fortunately I was able to re-bag
everything in another purple bag just
before the collection truck showed up.
        Looks like, odors or not, we're
going to have to hold off putting our
garbage out until we hear the truck
coming round the corner!
         If I could be sure he'd haul it
far enough away I could save a lot of
money on township garbage bags!
         I also plan to post our address
just before Bear hunting season this
year!
          Guess it's good to know we've
got such good garbage. Apparently
the best on the block!
