DAY-LIFE SAVING TIME!

   SUNDAY, MARCH 11TH., 2018
       DAY-LIFE SAVING TIME!

A lot of people complain about the
hour of sleep we're missing today.
The shift to and away from Daylight
Saving Time can be a pain twice each
year. But the change is also being
used as a safety reminder for all of
us these days!
A few years ago somebody came
up wit the idea that the switch to and
from DST would also be a good day
to remind people to change the
batteries in their smoke detectors.
       Homes everywhere are filled
with smoke detectors that don't
actually work because their batteries
died a year or so after they were
installed and nobody actually
bothered to check. Or if they did
they put off the effort to install
new ones. (Regular viewers of
"This Is Us" know how crucial this
can be.)
         It is extremely important to
have a working smoke detector in
our house. Its shrill siren is a sure
sign our Pizza is done and the oven
can be turned off! Other menu items
take a little longer to kick off the
alarm.
I suppose it can also be used
in the case of fire!
         But whether you're checking
the smoke coming from your roast
or just trying to protect your home
and property those alarms are only
helpful if they've got working
batteries!
          If you're without one, buy
a detector or two from your local
store of check with the Red Cross
of your Fire Department where
you  may be able to get one
or more for free!
I've got to go now. The
pizza is done!
             Even though it's now an
hour later than it feels it should
be I hope you'll find the time to
change those batteries....and that
all your NEWS is good.
