When Autumn Leaves Start To Fall!

It's more than just a line from an old song.
Those Autumn leaves are starting to fall!
We found plenty of those colored treasures
when we stopped by at our camper yesterday.
Of course there were still plenty on the
trees.
I thought I'd take in the show from a
comfortable position and reclined on our
swing.
    The colors were great.
The scene was enough to put one to sleep.
And it almost did. Until the reality of
falling leaves hits you right in the face........
literally!
Leaves have no respect for a person at rest.
The grand kids knew exactly how to
handle the situation.
The carefully rake the leaves into a big
pile.
Then the jump into the pile, redistributing
the foliage throughout the camp site where
they can be re-raked into another pile!
There were requests for someone to lie
down on the ground so he, or she, could be
buried in leaves.
I was just too "dead" to volunteer....somewhat
ironic you must admit.
But my grandson, brave trooper as he is,
stood in for me as his cousin proceeded to
cover him with the colors of Fall!
The area does look terrific with all those
colors. They tend to bring tourists into the area
just like they do throughout New England.
We should come up with some sort of
treatment, perhaps a spray, that could freeze
them on the trees in full color for a few extra
weeks!
Before you know it they'll be gone.
Well maybe not gone. But down, dried
up and faded and waiting to be raked up again....
but not for fun!
Let's enjoy them while we can. Like the
kids do!
Hope the fall colors light up your life a
little and that all your NEWS is good!
