Play Ball!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to the new PNC Stadium last night. Apparently
just about everybody else did too! The place was jammed
for the debut of the new Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail
Riders.....the Triple A Affiliate of the New York Yankees.
There were "stars" all over the place. Elected officials,
candidates, one of the Steinbrenner boys, Penn State
Quarterback Matt McGloin, TV personalities, Team
Mascots....two of them, and even former Yankee
slugger Reggie Jackson who threw out the first ball. Well
the first ball after about a dozen other special guests got
the honor too!
The new stadium was a star in its own right. It's very
fan friendly!
And the fans that I saw came hungry. And not just for
baseball!
If opening night was any example you'll want to start
any visit with a stop at the concession stand. If you do that
first thing there's a chance you'll get to your seat in time to
catch the second inning!
The lines waiting for a "Jumbo Hot Dog, Pretzels, and
soda stood about 8 to10 people deep and about 15 lines
wide.
Judging from what I saw in the stands people were
willing to wait! There was no shortage of pop corn, french
fries, hot dogs, and beer to name just a few of the tasty
treats. The only thing that seemed to be missing was the
Cracker Jacks!
Oh and, by the way, there were ball players too. And
a game which, unfortunately  and despite our root, root,
rooting, the home team lost in the 10th inning. It's a
shame! (That was in the song!)
Hope you get "out with the crowd" sometime this
season and that all your NEWS is good!
